Candle Box Gallery
These type of boxes were originally used to keep candles away from vermin. Today, one can use them for any number of purposes. They are a narrow box and the average size is generally around 15" long, 8" wide and 8-1/2" high. I will construct to your preferences. The walnut box illustrated has dovetailed corners and a hand rubbed Danish oil finish.
The same type of box (not illustrated) can be constructed out of poplar and finished with milk paint. There are a myriad of colors or combination of colors available, please refer to the MILK PAINT COLOR CHART section. When dried the milk paint is rubbed down and coated with Danish oil and waxed. This gives a more uniform overall finish. Due to the one of a kind results of this medium, consistent results can not be guaranteed. Raised panel lids are available for an extra charge.
